Brian VanGorder fired as Notre Dame defensive coordinator

A day after saying he was pleased with the defensive coaching efforts in Notre Dame's 38-35 loss to Duke, Brian Kelly announced on Sunday that defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder has been relieved of his duties. On Sunday, Kelly explained why he defended VanGorder on Saturday night after the game and then fired him the next day.
