Florida State DB Derwin James to miss 5-7 weeks with meniscus surgery

Florida State safety Derwin James had successful surgery to repair a lateral meniscus tear in his left knee, Jimbo Fisher said after Tuesday’s practice. James is expected to miss anywhere from 5-7 weeks, Fisher estimated. Florida State's highly anticipated matchup at home against Clemson on Oct. 29 is seven weeks based on James' timeframe.
