Tar Heels will have a 'home-field' edge
Posted Dec 1, 2006
North Carolina feels right at home at this year's NCAA women's College Cup. They'll be in suburban Raleigh about 20 miles from campus today when the Tar Heels start chasing their 18th championship in the 25-year history of the tournament. The top two seeds in both sides of the bracket advanced to the Final Four, with North Carolina (25-1) facing UCLA (21-3) in one semifinal and Notre Dame (24-0-1) playing Florida State (18-3-4) in the other.
