Do today's African-American athletes bear any responsibility to commenting on social issues? George Lynch, who played for Dean Smith, said the legendary coach encouraged them to speak up if they had something to say. He also noted that it is tougher for low-profile athletes to get heard. "As players, we do a lot of things in the community, but unless you are a bigger name, you don't get recognized."
