Mike McFarland, now director of University relations, has toiled behind the scenes for the past three decades to protect and defend Carolina’s reputation – with facts and figures. McFarland’s often anonymous work was hard for his boss to describe when he nominated McFarland for the 2016 C. Knox Massey Distinguished Service Award.
