VT's Buzz Williams agrees to contract extension

Buzz Williams has agreed to a two-year contract extension with Virginia Tech that carries through the 2022-23 season, at which time his guaranteed income would be $3.3 million. The reworked deal pays Williams a $100,000 retention bonus Aug. 1, bumping his 2016 compensation to $2.6 million, and calls for subsequent bonuses of $100,000 on April 30, 2017 and $200,000 each of the following three Aprils.
