UNC alum Cassandra Quin Butts, former Deputy White House Counsel, dead at 50

Cassandra Quin Butts, former Deputy White House Counsel and nominee to the Ambassadorship to the Bahamas, died on Thursday, May 26, 2016. She was 50. Butts suffered from a “brief illness” and passed away at her Washington, D.C. home. Butts received a B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.
