Defense sparks Heels to 81-51 win

North Carolina overwhelmed another opponent in the Smith Center yesterday, even on an afternoon when it played in fits and spurts and sometimes treated the ball as if it were coated in toxic waste. UNC throttled Dayton 81-51 to build its winning streak to nine games behind a smothering defense that pleased even Coach Roy Williams. (Winston-Salem Journal)
