Finishing flurry: Latta's 3-pointer puts Heels ahead to stay
Posted Jan 16, 2007
In Geno Auriemma's humble opinion, Ivory Latta had a "lousy" game against Connecticut on Monday night. He meant it as a compliment. The Huskies' coach was impressed that North Carolina's senior point guard could forget about all the things she did wrong against UConn -- eight turnovers, 4-of-13 shooting, one assist -- and hit a clutch 3-pointer with 1:01 remaining that snapped a tie and put the Tar Heels up for good against the pesky Huskies.
