No college soccer program played a larger role in shaping the 2016 MLS SuperDraft than the Tar Heels from North Carolina. When the Chicago Fire took All-America defender Jonathan Campbell with the 12th pick in the first round at Baltimore’s Convention Center, that selection marked the third player from the 2015 UNC squad drafted in the first dozen picks.
