Often, a coach must take one for the team

Thursday, February 15, 2007

Everything coaches say and do is highly calculated. When Roy Williams drew a second-half technical foul by slamming his fist into the scorer's table to protest a call, it probably wasn't accidental he chose a very well-padded section of the table. Williams was obviously desperate to accept some blame for the loss, which could imperil the Tar Heels' status as a potential No.1 seed in next month's NCAA tournament. (Richmond Times-Dispatch)
