How Matt Harvey decided to prove his doubters wrong and help Mets win National League East

After weeks of being pilloried for innings limits and his pitching workload down the stretch as the Mets chased a postseason birth, Matt Harvey walked into Terry Collins' office here at the Great American Ballpark and made a statement. Saturday, he would pitch as scheduled and he would throw 100 pitches. It was a step away from the conservative plan the Mets and the pitcher had set for him.
