UNC Basketball Recruiting Week In Review


A look back at the past week in UNC basketball recruiting.

--2016 4-star shooting guard made an official visit to UNC this weekend. He previously visited UNC in March to watch the Tar Heels play Duke.

-- and were at Word of God Academy Tuesday 9/15 meeting with 2016 five-star shooting guard . Alkins also performed well at this weekend's Elite 75 event.

-- visited 2016 5-star power forward at Oak Hill Academy on Wednesday 9/16. Giles will be moving his scheduled September 25 official visit to UNC to some time in October, according to his coach.

-- and were in Jacksonville, Florida for an in-home visit with 4-star 2016 center on Thursday 9/17.

--2016 4-star power forward added a Duke offer to go with his UNC offer. UNC still in DeLaurier's final 6 list of schools.

-- and will be in Chapel Hill with the NBA championship trophy during ' official visit the weekend of 9/26, although they are prohibited by NCAA rules from interacting with recruits.

--UNC assistant watched 2016 wing on Wed 9/16 at Wesleyan Christian Academy.

-- was in Concord, NC on Wednesday 9/16 checking out 2018 guard during their open gym session. It's UNC's second viewing in two weeks. Inside Carolina also published a feature on Black last week.

-- reportedly had a scheduled in-home visit with 2016 power forward T.J. Leaf on Monday 9/14. Not much of a chance here for UNC nor confirmation that the visit took place.

--UNC was reportedly scheduled to visit 2017 5-star power forward Mohamad Bamba for an open-gym session in Norristown, PA on Friday. Bamba has already been offered by Duke, who seems to be the leader at this point.

--UNC coaches reportedly watched Jordan Long of Berean Academy on Thursday 9/17.

--2016 5-star point guard has eliminated UNC from consideration. Fox had been offered a scholarship by UNC.

--2016 5-star power forward also dropped UNC from consideration and had held a UNC scholarship offer. Bridges is down to his final three of Michigan State, Kentucky, and Indiana.

--2016 5-star shooting guard is no longer considering UNC.
