During his early years in the league, watching him contort his body while unleashing truly astonishing aerial attacks on the rim was arguably the greatest show on earth. At his core, Carter was a global phenomenon that engulfed the basketball universe, leaving behind a permanent imprint that all these years later still feels surreal.
