Maryland exposed North Carolina's two major weaknesses Sunday and showed the flaws that could make for short stays in two forthcoming postseason tournaments. Lack of toughness was not the only issue for UNC in an 89-87 setback in College Park, Md. An on-the-floor leader was missing again for UNC, a player who could have held the team together and helped it hold on against Maryland's ferocious charge.
