Nike announces new basketball event designed to keep players from Under Armour
Posted Aug 13, 2015
Nike officials acknowledged the existence of a new event in the Bahamas which was created primarily to lure elite prospects away from the Under Armour Elite 24 game in New York. In simple terms, Nike's plan worked. Because Harry Giles, Jayson Tatum and Malik Monk, all of whom accepted invitations to the Under Armour Elite 24 last year -- have committed to play in Nike's event in the Bahamas scheduled for Aug. 19-23. If you're wondering, yes, those dates completely overlap the UA Elite 24.
