New contract loaded with incentives for UVa basketball coach Tony Bennett to stick around
Posted Jul 7, 2015
The University of Virginia has reworked the contract of men’s basketball coach Tony Bennett in a fashion that will make it less tempting to leave Charlottesville. Bennett signed a seven-year deal last June that called for base salary and supplemental compensation totaling $1.924 million. Less than 11 months later, Bennett agreed to a new contract that will pay him $2.1 million per year, including $400,000 in base salary and $1.7 million in supplemental compensation.
