‘Unfortunate’ foul could seal Devils’ fate
Posted Mar 5, 2007
Did Duke’s Gerald Henderson deliberately try to injure Hansbrough when he hit him with a forearm to the face with 14.5 seconds remaining in the Tar Heels’ 86-72 victory Sunday? Or was the blow that inflicted all the damage simply incidental contact between two heated rivals going for the same rebound? Surely the trio of officials knew the answer would impact much more than just a game whose outcome was no longer in doubt. That’s why it took so long for them to come up with one.
