No official deal yet, but Hovis committed to pursuing professional dream with Marlins

When he was drafted Tuesday, Reilly Hovis became the first-ever Forestview product to be drafted but due to his elbow injury, surgery and ongoing rehabilitation, he’s not expected to throw until August and is hopeful he’ll be ready for spring training 2016. Miami’s Class A teams include Batavia, Greensboro and Jupiter, with the Marlins’ Class AA affiliate in Jupiter and its Class AAA affiliate in New Orleans. (Gaston Gazette)
