Walking with Dave Smith is a tour through recent Virginia Tech sports history

A bank of file cabinets line a wall in Dave Smith’s office, filled with hundreds of documents he’s gathered in 40 years on Virginia Tech’s sports information staff, a trove of material only a historian like him could truly appreciate. The 66-year-old Smith will retire June 1, so the cabinets and their materials need to go, but not before a trip down memory lane.
