As is common at UNC's commencement, students hold up witty or unique signs. One sign seen among the graduates in the Kenan Stadium crowd gave a shoutout to Mom and Dad while referencing a certain legendary Tar Heel basketball coach who passed away this year. It was a fitting tribute to her parents, UNC, and Coach Dean Smith, who established pointing to the passer as away of honoring or showing gratitude for an assist.
