NBA journey has had many flights for Vince Carter

At 38, Vince Carter has never been less influential statistically or athletically. And at the same time, in his 17 NBA seasons, he has never played for a better team. And so, in terms of the championship goal that he may yet reach, is this version of Carter -- earthbound, aching and wise -- more valuable than the young star who was supposed to be the second coming of Michael Jordan?
