Fans and media have become so accustomed to scandal and corruption at this level of athletics that even a gesture as seemingly harmless as this, one that represents the best of sports and the relationships it fosters, is immediately flagged as a potential violation. It shows a level of cynicism in college sports that somewhat necessary at this point, but still disappointing. (PennLive.com)
