In 2013, his last healthy year, Matt Harvey averaged 95.8 mph with his fastball — making him the hardest throwing starting pitcher in baseball that year. Harvey returns to the Mets this season, after rehabbing from Tommy John surgery for the last 17 months. One of his focuses has been his mechanics.
