Twelve minutes, 33 seconds remained in the first half when forward Tyler Hansbrough's mask came off. And so did the Tar Heels' gloves. Led by a season-high 33 points from the tenacious sophomore — who added new meaning to the term "hard-nosed" — top-seeded North Carolina out-defensed, out-rebounded and out-toughed No. 9 seed Michigan State down the stretch to win 81-67 in the second round of the NCAA East Regional.
