Ten men and two women walked onto a large stage Sunday afternoon. The lights dimmed, a video played on the giant screens and the sound that filled the arena was loud enough to echo throughout the concourse. Then chancellor Carol Folt of UNC Chapel Hill assertively stepped up to one of two microphones. “Good afternoon and welcome to the Dean E. Smith Center,” Folt said to a silent crowd, with a slow emphasis on the building’s name. The coach would’ve hated it.
