My routine at the time was to wait outside their locker room at Carmichael Auditorium for the players to arrive for practice and grab whoever I could for a quick interview. But on this particular afternoon, I was bypassing the locker room and heading straight upstairs to the basketball office for an interview with Dean Smith.
