“Dean Smith was a larger-than-life figure for me because of what my dad (Woody Durham) did. He was this iconic thing. “Here’s Dean Smith about to play an ACC game, he walks out to do an interview with my dad and he not only knows that (my high school team) won, but that we’ve won three in a row. And he felt compelled to ask me if I did anything more than score four points.”
