UNC women's hoops commitment Destinee Walker scores 50


Lake Highland Prep’s Destinee Walker had a career-high 50 points to lead the Highlanders to an 84-45 victory over Lake Howell in the opening game of the Showdown at O-Town tournament Friday in girls basketball at Orlando Christian Prep. Walker, whose total is thought to be a school record, scored on jumpers with five 3-point field goals, coast-to-coast jaunts and drives to the basket for Lake Highland Prep (17-2), ranked No. 1 in the Sentinel Super 16.
