This was not the normal Tar Heels team, the one that captured the ACC regular-season and tournament championships, the one that went onto the floor at Continental Airlines Arena with 31 wins and only six losses. For most of those first 37 games, Williams' Heels were good defensively. But when their opponents shot better than 50 percent -- the Hoyas rocked the Heels with a 57.6 average -- UNC was 3-6.
