Judge Orders Mediation For UNC Media Lawsuit

A judge on Friday denied a motion from UNC lawyers to dismiss a suit brought by WRAL and other local media to compel the university to disclose the names of employees disciplined in the wake of the Wainstein scandal. In addition to denying the dismissal motion, the judge instructed the parties to settle the matter through mediation, saying, “If you can’t come up with a timetable, I’ll do it for you.”
