Marvin Williams' talent lifts expectations
Posted Apr 9, 2007
Marvin Williams knew exactly what he was getting into when the Hawks drafted him with the second overall pick of the 2005 NBA draft. "I know with that position people expect you to come in and be the hero, but me and my position, I was only 19," Williams said before the Hawks' 109-104 overtime loss to Philadelphia Sunday night at Wachovia Center. "I knew teams were focusing on my upside and not the player I was when they drafted me. And I'm still focusing on that and becoming the player that everybody wants me to be."
