Tyler Hansbrough Named MVP At Tar Heel Awards Ceremony

Consensus first-team All-America Tyler Hansbrough was voted Most Valuable Player of the 2006-07 UNC men's basketball team, it was announced at the annual end-of-year awards ceremony held Tuesday evening at the Smith Center. During the ceremony, Hansbrough and freshman point guard Ty Lawson both announced they would return to Carolina to play for the Tar Heels in 2007-08 rather than enter the NBA Draft this spring.
