Slive, who also announced Tuesday he is entering treatment for prostate cancer, is 74. Big Ten commissioner Jim Delany, who along with Slive is considered one of the two most powerful leaders in college athletics, is 66. ACC commissioner John Swofford turns 66 in December. The Big 12's Bob Bowlsby, who many see as a likely successor to NCAA president Mark Emmert, is 62.
