Butch Davis era kicks off

UNC was just about to kick off its first Spring Game of the Butch Davis era, but before any helmet-smashing could commence, there was one thing the new coach had to do. Wielding a microphone, Davis coolly strolled to midfield to deliver a message to the approximately 10,000 fans who made their way into Kenan Stadium on Saturday afternoon - that "this football program is headed in the direction to win a national championship."
