Batten: There's more at stake this time around for UNC, ECU

Pride has been the only real thing at stake in most of the 16 football meetings between East Carolina and North Carolina. Sure, the Pirates gained a bit of notoriety for blasting the Tar Heels 55-31 last season en route to a 10-3 finish. But there's never been a conference championship or bowl bid at stake in the series, or even a national ranking threatened. (Fayetteville Observer)
