Charity effort leads to less hair for Tar Heels

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

The UNC baseball team can be seen around campus sporting a new look. But the clean-cut style is not the result of a fashion statement. Rather, the Tar Heels celebrated their inaugural Cuts for a Cure program by shaving their heads. The effort raised more than $5,000 to help N.C. Children's Promise combat cancer and will be donated in honor of assistant coach Chad Holbrook's son Reece and student manager Chase Jones, both of whom are battling the illness. (Daily Tar Heel)
