North Carolina didn’t need to watch East Carolina’s 28-21 win at then-No. 17 Virginia Tech last Saturday to know it should take the Pirates seriously. The returning players and coaches on the Tar Heels vividly remember last year’s debacle at Kenan Stadium, when ECU gained 603 yards and won 55-31. (Durham Herald-Sun)
