Colin Moran’s promotion to Corpus Christi entailed no controversy, but the sixth overall pick in 2013 was a lightning rod nonetheless in his first full pro season. He opened at high Class A Jupiter in the Florida State League, and scouts who saw him there came away scratching their heads about the 21-year-old nephew of ex-big leaguer B.J. Surhoff.
