Dustin Ackley was banged up during the fall. So much, in fact, that when UNC's seniors were drafting players for the team's annual Fall World Series, Matt Danford ribbed rival general managers Robert Woodard and Bryan Steed for selecting Ackley. "He had a bad ankle, bad knee, bad shoulder and couldn't throw," said Danford. "Then in the World Series, he hit a home run off me. "From that point on, I think that's when Roy Hobbs was born."
