Optimism high, expectations low as NC State looks to rebound from 2013 disaster

So what is a reasonable expectation for coach Dave Doeren’s second season at State? Despite projected improvements on both sides of the ball, Doeren’s answer to that question on Sunday suggests that the bar isn’t being set incredibly high. “Our goal is to give our fans something to cheer about week in and week out, and to go to a bowl game at the end of the year so we can develop those young players at bowl practices,” the second-year coach said.
