North Carolina’s arrival here spawned an Elon University-record attendance figure for baseball, with some even scurrying atop the roof of a storage building to look on from beyond the outfield fence. They witnessed nothing but precision from the top-five nationally ranked Tar Heels, who eventually clobbered Elon 9-0 in front of an announced crowd of 1,811 on Tuesday night at Latham Park.
