Freshman outfielder Austin Beck commits to UNC
Posted Jun 21, 2014
All North Carolina had to do was ask. Austin Beck knew his answer years ago. Beck, who just finished his freshman season at North Davidson, verbally committed to play baseball for the Tar Heels earlier this week. Beck, who played right field this spring, jumped at the chance to play for UNC. "I've always wanted to go to Carolina," he said. "It was kind of a no-doubt deal right there." Beck stood out in every way possible this season. He hit .366 with four doubles, four home runs, and wreaked havoc on the base paths.
