Which would you rather be, a big fish in a small pond or a small fish in a big pond? That was the question that Washington (D.C.) Ballou defensive tackle Marvin Austin, the top player in the country at his position last year, was facing in early February. Austin, who had offers from every major BCS program in the country and could have signed with USC, Ohio State, Florida, Michigan, Notre Dame, Texas or almost anyone else, decided to sign with North Carolina.
