Costly fourth inning dooms Tar Heels

A six-run fourth inning in the opening game of the Gainesville Regional, and No. 3-seed North Carolina was on the wrong end — all six runs given up by ace Trent Thornton. "It was one of those innings where you wake up in the middle of the night and hope you were just dreaming it," coach Mike Fox said. "But, you have to give them credit and then you hope it doesn't deflate your team." (Carolina Blue)
