Former UNC Tennis All-American Nicholas Monroe Making Moves At French Open

Former North Carolina men’s tennis player Nicholas Monroe claimed a 6-3, 7-5 first round victory over Slovak Martin Klizan and Austrian Dominic Thiem alongside his doubles partner Simon Stadler Tuesday at the French Open in Paris. The Chapel Hill resident and 2004 graduate of the University will now face the thirteenth-seeded pair of Dutchman Jean-Julian Rojer and Romanian Horia Tecau in the second round along with his playing partner.
