Tar Heels Open ACC Tourney With Georgia Tech


Two-time Coastal Division champion North Carolina has won 10 of its last 11 games entering the 2007 ACC Baseball Championship, which opens Wednesday at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. In the new round-robin format, the second-seeded Tar Heels (45-11) will open with No. 7 seed Georgia Tech (31-23) at 1 p.m. Wednesday, followed by games with No. 6 seed NC State (36-19) Thursday at 7 p.m. and No. 3 seed Virginia (41-13) Saturday at 1 p.m. (Tar Heel Blue)
