Wake Forest grants release to top basketball recruit Shelton Mitchell
Posted Apr 30, 2014
Shelton Mitchell was by far the highest-rated prospect signed during Jeff Bzdelik’s four-year tenure as Wake Forest basketball coach. Unfortunately for Bzdelik, he couldn’t hold onto the job long enough for the four-star point guard to ever play a game for him. Now it appears as though Mitchell won’t be playing for Bzdelik’s successor Danny Manning, either, after receiving a release from his NCAA letter of intent on Wednesday.
