UNC Women's Signee Jamie Cherry Named AP NC Player of the Year
Posted Apr 4, 2014
Awards are no stranger to West Craven senior Jamie Cherry. She practically sees them in her life as much as she does James and Marcia Cherry - her parents. Friday, however, Cherry received perhaps the best award she ever has when she was named the 2013-14 Associated Press Girls Basketball Player of the Year for the state of North Carolina. Cherry has had her college future sewn up since her freshman season when she committed to the University of North Carolina.
