DeShields, UNC freshmen ready for NCAA test


UNC forward Diamond DeShields, the espnW National Freshman of the Year, hasn’t been fazed by much during her first season of college basketball. But she seemed puzzled while watching the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship selection show Monday. UNC earned the No. 4 seed in the Stanford Region and will host No. 13 Tennessee-Martin in the first round on Sunday at Carmichael Arena. (Durham Herald-Sun)
